Shea butter is a very rich and smooth oil, perfect for many uses around your home. Since it is a neutral butter, it is usually used in salves, lotions, balms, conditioners, and much more!

The many uses of Shea Butter

We recognize shea butter for being a lavish moisturizer, a versatile base for creating all-natural lotions, an organic alternative for making medicines and remedies, etc... These are some of the many uses of shea butter...

A great place to start

InterBio’s shea butter serves as a super good base for any salves, lotions, rubs, etc. That is why we suggest starting with shea butter as a base for all these. It will provide you with a great consistency; it is easily mixed in with different kinds of butter such as cocoa butter or coconut oil and has a neutral odor allowing much liberty in the means of adding your favorite scents to it. It also has anti-inflammatory, nurturing agents, making it the perfect place to start. When you start with an all-natural butter, you are destined to make something great!

Lightweight Moisturizer

Due to shea butter is packed with fat, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E content, this natural butter can do wonders for your skin and hair. Since it is very easily melted, it allows a seamless application to your skin and hair. Its moisturizing properties are super good for dry areas of your skin like chapped lips, cracked skin on your hands, cracked feet; even dry hair and scalp! We encourage you to use it daily on the dry areas of your skin until it completely heals.

Itch relief

Many people across the globe find shea butter on of the best all-natural itch relief remedies. Since it contains anti-inflammatory agents, it is considered a great remedy for mosquito bites, since it diminishes their appearance in a minute or two; yet people swear that it also relieves the pesky itch almost immediately after it is applied. Also, when paired with tea tree oil or grapefruit extract, it acts as a sealed vitamin, anti-bacterial patch, safe from minor infections and that pesky itch!

Give your hair some love

Your hair, just like the rest of your body, also needs some love and attention. When it comes to helping your hair look healthy and vivid, you always want to keep your hair products 100% natural and pure. By creating your own hair products, you are minimizing the chances of damaging your hair with chemicals no one can even pronounce, you know exactly what is going into your products, and you also have the liberty to add any natural ingredients to suit your personal needs. You can use a good amount of shea butter with 2-3 drops of a fresh-smelling essential oil in your hair once a week for a deep condition, or every-day in small doses for an all-day pop.

  • 2 tablespoons of InterBio’s cocoa butter
  • 1 tablespoon of InterBio’s shea butter
  • 1 tablespoon of dried rosebuds
  • 3 drops of your favorite essential oil (use rose oil for a romantic vibe)
  • 2 small containers to keep your lip balm in (you may need more or less depending on their size)

On very low heat, melt the shea butter in a small stainless steel bowl or pot. After the butter is liquid, add your roses and stir well. Allow to steep (on very low heat) for around 1 hour. Strain mixture into a bowl through a fine-mesh strainer. Wipe out your original heating vessel. Pour the colored butter back in, and return to your low heat. Add the cocoa butter and stir until it’s all melted. Remove it from the heat, add the essential oil and stir to mix. Transfer to a small container and let set for 3 hours (or until completely set).
