Heal Scars with Essential Oils
Scars. Sometimes they have really fun stories of fearlessness and silliness behind them, and sometimes they hold stories of brave surgery survivals and endurance. But, despite the entertaining stories they hold, many people still consider their scars imperfections and would like to get rid of them.
Natural and Synthetic methods of scar healing
There is a couple of ways to do this, but generally only 2 paths: all-natural or synthetic.
If you opt to go the synthetic way, you’ll find yourself looking at products that might help scar healing but might contain so many other chemicals that they could cause other problems. But if you go the all-natural route your body will benefit much more from it. You will see the same results, if not better ones, and you will not risk introducing harsh chemicals into your body.
The way to heal your scars naturally is by using all-natural 100% pure essential oils in salves and serums also made from natural ingredients! It is fun because you can either buy the salves at all-natural stores or you can make the salves and blends on your own for half the price. It is really fun to make your own products, and you can monitor what goes into them, thus tailor-making it to help you!

Helichrysum Oil: This essential oil is practically made to heal scars. It is an amazing ingredient to have in your scar healing salves because it has a very high content of diketones. These awesome little agents are the ones responsible for re-generating your skin cells and promoting even full growth. So, no matter if it is a surgical scar, a new scar, an old scar, a facial scar, etc. helichrysum oil will always heal your scars! We recommend diluting it in jojoba oil or grapeseed oil for these oil’s healing properties as well.
Carrot Seed Oil: This is a great oil for evening out the skin tomes around your scars. It will actually make the scars practically melt right into your normal skin! Apart from leveling out skin tones, carrot seed oil also helps protect that exposed area from further damage by protecting it from the sun and keeping it hydrated! We always recommend using carrot seed oil in a carrier oil such as olive oil or shea butter to have it on for as long as possible.
Frankincense Oil: This is the best treatment for healing old scars. It has an amazing regenerative property. One of the perks of frankincense is that you can use it on your scars without a carrier oil since it is very gentle and is not known to cause irritation. We recommend using it as it is and massaging your scars with it for a couple of minutes. You’ll see great results in no time!
Geranium Oil: This beautiful floral oil serves as more than just a pretty fragrance. It actually has an agent that breaks down scar tissue and promotes healthy re-growth. This is perfect to use to heal your scars! It will also soothe, hydrate, and nourish the area that is scarred. We recommend using it in coconut oil or in argan oil as a carrier. You’ll love what it does for your skin!
Neroli Oil: If you want to prevent more scarring in an area prone to scarring, use neroli oil. This scarring includes things such as stretch marks, boils, or acne, etc. It is a good thing to prevent your scars from appearing before they even do since you’ll have less of a problem later. We recommend using neroli oil diluted in castor seed oil to give you a beautiful sheer look while combating scars at the same time!
Rose Oil: This is an anti-inflammatory essential oil, and it is perfect to use when you have a very puffy, inflamed scar. This usually occurs in newer scars, but can also come to happen in old scars, just the same. Rose oil will soothe, calm, and ease the inflammation on your scar. Use rose oil on your scars diluted in a carrier oil that absorbs quickly such as grape seed oil. Your scars will appear less and less inflamed throughout the day!
Sage Oil: This oil is great for invigorating the skin and making it heal quicker. Some say that it makes a badly scarred area that has lost the nerve endings feel more alive, and swear by it. It is to be used cautiously and to be diluted in a carrier oil of your choice. Other than using it carefully, have fun with it and enjoy the results!
