We all know how hard it can be to find a product that helps regulate our different skin types. Some products are supposed to make our oily skin quit over-producing oils, and other claim to make our dry skin smooth and soft again; and as we all know, that is not always the case. For many of us, many of the products that we buy contain harsh chemicals and end up damaging our skin more than helping it.
Luckily, we don’t have to worry about those harsh chemicals or irritating ingredients! With essential oils all those worries disappear, and we’re safe to begin our journey towards perfect skin without fear. But, how do I know which essential oil is good for my skin type? Different Skin Types and Oils
Lavender Oil: Lavender oil is super hydrating and soothing, so it will leave your dry skin feeling super great. We recommend applying it once or twice a day, mixed with a carrier oil like sweet almond oil or jojoba oil for extra healing and hydrating properties. Also, who doesn’t love the smell of lavender oil?!
Jasmine Oil: For an extra hydrating essential oil that won’t clog your pores, jasmine oil is the way to go. It moisturizes and evens out your complexion like a champ! It also reduces the visibility pf age spots or highly pigmented areas. Plus, jasmine oil smells super good and will illuminate your skin like nothing else!
Avocado Oil: This essential oil is a wonderful oil for dry skin since it is composed of a large amount of fatty acids and vitamins. Your skin will soak it in in a matter of minutes and will appear 10 times better the same day! You’ll love the results you see if you use avocado oil!
Lemon Oil: Since lemon oil is a potent astringent, it is a great essential oil to use for oily skin. It will slightly exfoliate your skin and get rid of any extra sebum on the skin’s surface, leaving you with beautiful and radiant skin, without the oily shine! It also smells extra good and doubles as a great fragrance!
Orange Oil: Oily skin isn’t always the most prominent on your face. It sometimes can be most concentrated on your scalp, and that’s when orange oil comes in handy. Orange oil is great when applied to the scalp either in the shower or in a 15 minute scalp massage. It will get rid of excess skin and oil buildup, and you’ll be left with a fresh, invigorated scalp!
Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is all-around a wonderful essential oil. Its powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties make it one of the top 5 essential oils to use on your skin. It is great treating oily skin, and it is also amazing treating acne-prone oily skin. Studies have actually shown it is as effective as the drug benzoyl peroxide when used to treat oily-faced acne.
Rose Oil: Rose oil is a and gives you an ideal essential oil to use when you have sensitive skin. It has nourishing components, tones your face, and gives you an all day glow. It will not irritate you skin, and will give you beautiful results. It is a great essential oil to blend into your facial products, and will mix great with a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil or sea butter.
Frankincense Oil: This essential oil is great for sensitive skin since it will not only hydrate it and soothe it, but it will also protect you skin cells and keep it from getting damaged by substances throughout the day! Dilute it in a carrier oil for softer results, and never forget to patch test before you begin to use any new products!
Geranium Oil: Geranium oil is an essential oil you should hold dear to your heart when you have sensitive skin. It is a great moisturizer and will give you a wonderful glow all day. It also has benefits like hormonal balancing agents and relaxing properties!
Acne Prone Skin:
Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is actually good for most types of skin, hence why it is also on the oily skin column. But, when it comes to treating acne prone skin, you definitely want to have a bottle of tea tree oil around at all times. It actually helps relieve your skin of the bacteria that is causing your acne, keeping it far away from your beautiful face!
Lemongrass Oil: This fresh-smelling essential oil is a great go-to wen your acne begins to act up. One of its main active components is citral, which tackles the root of your acne and does away with it before it gets too fired up.
